मध्य प्रदेश के गुना जिले में साल 2021 की वन स्थिति रिपोर्ट में 1327 वर्ग किमी वन क्षेत्र था जबकि 2023 की रिपोर्ट में यह घटकर 1275 वर्ग किमी ही रह गया। इसको देखते हुए वन विभाग अतिक्रमण हटाने की कार्रवाई में जुट गया है।

In Madhya Pradesh, 5,353 sq km of forest area has degraded into non-forest land, making it irrecoverable. This degradation has led to a decline in extremely dense forests, resulting in biodiversity loss and weakening the state's carbon sink capabilities.

जबलपुर नगर निगम, जबलपुर शहर के अलग-अलग हिस्से में 12 लाख पेड़ों का वृक्षारोपण करने जा रहा है। नगर निगम के अनुसार इस पूरी परियोजना में 8 करोड़ से अधिक का खर्च आने वाला है।
