Adani Power acquired the thermal energy project in 2023, gaining full control by Oct 2024. Now operated by subsidiary Anuppur Thermal Energy (MP) Pvt Ltd.

नया खामदा, सुपलई और सकाई गांव के परिवारों को सतपुड़ा के जंगल से विस्थापन के बदले पथरीली और कब्ज़े वाली ज़मीन दी गई है जहां उनके लिए खेती करना संभव नहीं है। 

1990 में बने बरगी बांध ने 162 गांवों को डूब का शिकार बना दिया था और 1,14,000 लोगों को बेघर कर दिया था। मगर इन लोगों के खेत आज भी पानी का इंतज़ार कर रहे हैं। इसी इलाके में 2 बड़े न्यूक्लियर पॉवर प्लांट बनने हैं जो भारी मात्रा में पानी का इस्तेमाल करेंगे।

Bargi Dam has submerged approx. 26,797 hectares across three districts, displacing 7,000 families, 43% from the tribal community. These farmers now face a water crisis, alleging that the government is prioritising power projects over them.
