बद्धु लाल मध्य प्रदेश के सतना ज़िला के एक छोटे से गांव में रहते हैं। वह जलवायु परिवर्तन या फिर ग्लोबल वार्मिंग जैसे शब्द नहीं जानते मगर उन्होंने अपनी पूरी ज़मीन पर पौधारोपण कर दिया है। इसके लिए उन्होंने अपनी खेती की ज़मीन भी प्रकृति को दान कर दी है।

पिछले दो सालों में सुंदरम ने पूरे देश की 14,000 किलोमीटर से अधिक की साइकिल से यात्रा की। इस दौरान सुंदरम ने 18,322 स्कूल, कॉलेज, यूनिवर्सिटी, और गांवों में 2 लाख से भी अधिक वृक्षारोपण किये हैं। 

वैष्णवी पाटिल पुणे (Pune) में रहती हैं, और देसी पौधों के बीज का संग्रहण करती हैं। वैष्णवी इस काम में पिछले 5-6  सालों से लगी हुई हैं। वैष्णवी निजी स्तर पर बीज इकट्ठे करके उन्हें प्रोसेस करतीं थी। अब वैष्णवी आरंभ फाउंडेशन नाम की एक संस्था चलातीं हैं
