Why Elon Musk’s child seeks name change?

Elon Musk’s daughter, Xavier, seeks to change her name and distance herself from her last name, as well as legally change her identity.

Formerly known as Xavier Alexander Musk, she is the daughter of the business tycoon and his first wife, Justine Wilson. The couple separated in 2008.

The daughter, who recently turned 18, identifies as a trans woman and filed a petition to change her name according to her new gender identity in Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica in April.

“I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape or form,” the petition said, according to the Reuters news agency.

His new name was redacted in the online document, the agency said. However, according to a report from TMZ, she wants her name to be Vivian Jenna Wilson, in keeping with her gender identity and using her mother’s maiden name.

“Gender identity and the fact that I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father. In no way or form”, was the argument presented by the young woman.

The petition was reportedly filed in April, shortly after Vivian turned 18, according to Yahoo! Entertainment.

After reaching the age of consent in California, she asked the court to change her gender recognition from male to female and to register her new name, according to court documents available online through PlainSite.org.

With this petition, which he filed in April with the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Santa Monica, he will obtain a new birth certificate that reflects his new gender identity. His new name was redacted in an online document.
