Elon Musk, the world's richest man, allegedly offered sex to a former employee through his aerospace company SpaceX during an encounter on his private plane in 2016, according to a report published by Business Insider on Thursday night.
Elon Musk paid $250,000, to a stewardess from the company's corporate plane in exchange for burying the complaint of the harassment he suffered from the tycoon.
The woman accused Musk of exposing his erect penis, rubbing his leg without his consent, and offering him a horse in exchange for an erotic massage. So in 2018, SpaceX paid the woman $250,000 as part of a settlement in exchange for her promise not to pursue any legal proceedings.
The incident happened in 2016 when she was a flight attendant, who worked as a contract cabin crew member for SpaceX's fleet of corporate jets.
The reason that Musk offered a horse was that the woman usually rides them, however, he rejected the proposal and continued with the massage without being part of any sexual act, so the statement of the victim's friend can be read: "She will not perform sexual favours in exchange for money or gifts.”
The documents include a statement signed by the attendee's friend, as well as email correspondence and other materials obtained by Business Insider. They alleged that the incident in question occurred during a private message on Musk's Gulfstream jet. The publication contacted Musk for comment on Wednesday. He offered an initial response before finally cutting off communication.
The statement describes the 2016 meeting that led to the subsequent deal as occurring late in the year. He claims that Musk called the attendant into his room during a flight and found him "completely naked except for a sheet that covered the lower half of his body." She claims that Musk exposed her erect penis to the SpaceX employee and "touched her and offered to buy her a horse if she 'does more.'"
The assistant, a horseman, turned down Musk's offer, according to the friend's statement obtained by Business Insider.
"He pulled his penis out of him, he was erect," the friend said in the statement. "And he started propositioning her like he was touching her thigh and telling her he was going to buy her a horse. And he was basically trying to bribe her to do some kind of sexual act."
The assistant's $250,000 severance package included non-disclosure and non-disparagement clauses that prohibited the assistant from mentioning the incidents or payment or revealing information about SpaceX or Musk's dealings.
