Minor tribal girl raped in Tripura, A complete story

A 17-year-old tribal girl was allegedly raped by a man in the Gomati district of Tripura, police said on Sunday. The police arrested the accused and charged him under the ICC Articles and the POCSO Act.

The underage girl had come to Amarpur, to attend a village festival at the Chandibari temple on Friday evening.

According to the report of PTI, "The man offered to take the girl home in his two-wheeler. However, on his way back, he forcibly took the girl to a jungle near Chelagang, a remote area of ​​the sub- Amarpur division and raped her,” the officer in charge said.

The OC said the man left the girl in the jungle and fled early in the morning. "After receiving the information, a police team rushed to the scene and rescued the girl. Now the girl is home and out of danger," he said.

The victim's statement was recorded before a magistrate on Sunday, the police officer said.

In another incident, a 20-year-old deaf and mute woman was allegedly raped in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. The incident happened on Saturday evening when the woman was alone in her home. The accused, a 27-year-old man, lives in the same locality as the victim. He went to the victim's home on Saturday evening and raped her. His assault on the woman continued until her parents returned home. On noticing his parents, the accused fled. According to Srinivas, the accused is a vagrant.
