India evacuates 470 students from Ukraine amid Russian attack

Ground Report | New Delhi: India evacuates students from Ukraine; In the midst of Russia's attack on Ukraine, the Indian government is busy moving its citizens out of Ukraine. Under this campaign, the first batch of 470 Indian students left Ukraine and reached the Romanian border.

The Embassy of India in Kyiv has reported that this process of safe evacuation of Indian citizens from Ukraine is being carried out with the joint efforts of the Indian embassies of Romania, Hungary and Poland.

Preparations have also been stepped up at the Polish-Ukrainian border to allow Indian students to enter Poland. It should be noted that in the midst of Russia's attack on Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have had a telephone conversation.

Here the Russian army is rapidly entering different cities of Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky issued a warning saying Russia would attack the capital Kyiv in the next few hours.

Following talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vladimir Putin, two types of views have emerged from Congress regarding the position of the Government of India. One side says that the government must maintain the balance, while the other side says that Russia's action must be condemned.

The main leader of the Congress and former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Anand Sharma, has emphasized the measures taken by the government. At the same time, another senior congressional leader, Manish Tewari, argues that the government should take a clear stand on this issue and tell Russia that this attack is wrong.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor says India should condemn Russia's move as it is a violation of international norms and the UN Charter.
