Ground Report | New Delhi: Russian commanders Killed in Ukraine; On the fifteenth day of the invasion of Ukraine, Russia has reportedly been rocked by the deaths of a number of leading military figures.

The Western official believes this is because commanders have to "come closer to the front" as Russia feels no progress has yet been made in Ukraine.

"The reason that is happening is that commanders feel they have to go further to have more momentum and control over operations," the official said.

On Monday, Ukraine's Defense Intelligence Service said its military had killed Russian Army Major General Vitaly Gerasimov and a number of other senior officers.

"That's an indication of maybe some degree of frustration, some degree of lack of progress and they're trying to impose their personality on the battlefield and then put themselves at personal risk."
