Netflix’s Delhi Crime Season 2 is out for almost a week now, and everyone is talking about the brilliance of the show. In season 2, DCP Vartika Chaturvedi is solving multiple murders and dealing with heinous crimes. Initially, the show explores the angle of criminal tribes through the Kacha Baniyan gang which was active in the 1990s in Delhi and committed crimes again in post-2010.

But, the five episodes series ends with arresting a character named: Lata Solanki. The character arch and ambition of Lata Solanki resemble the Neha Verma case in Indore.
Neha Verma Case in Indore
Quite like Lata Solanki, played by Tillotama Shome, in Delhi Crime, Neha Verma too was a beautician and wanted to make quick money. Neha met Megha Deshpande in Orbit Mall, Indore, and got tempted by her heavy jewellery. On the pretext of a job opportunity, Neha took Megha’s address and phone number.
Within two days, Neha hatched the plan to rob and murder the Deshpande household in the Srinagar House, Indore. In June 2011, Neha with the two other friends entered the Deshpande household, and gruesomely murdered women of three generations in the house. Ashlesha Deshpande (21), her mother Megha (42) and grandmother, Rohini Phadke (70), according to the police records.
The manner in which they committed the triple murder, was not similar to the Kachha Baniyan gang, but equally gruesome. According to police reports, the criminals fired bullets and stabbed women multiple times.
Neha Verma wanted to settle down with her boyfriend, and live a luxurious life. The temptation of a comfortable and posh life was the motive behind the triple murder.
In 2011, Neha Verma became the first woman to be sentenced to capital punishment by the state. Not just this, all the accused were given a death sentence.
