Ground Report | New Delhi: EVM controversy in UP; After allegations of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav taking out EVMs in UP, the Election Commission on Wednesday ordered action against the ADM of Varanasi. According to sources in the Election Commission, news agency ANI has reported that orders have been given to suspend Varanasi's, ADM NK Singh.

According to sources, the Election Commission has given instructions to suspend the ADM of Varanasi for alleged violation of rules related to transportation of training AVMs in UP. In this regard, the Chief Election Commissioner of UP has been instructed to take further action.

On Tuesday, Akhilesh Yadav had said that the District Magistrate of Varanasi was taking out EVMs without informing the local candidates. He asked the Election Commission to investigate the matter.
