Yash (IAS Smoking skills) who use to mock Palestinians found dead

A prominent nationalist social media influencer, who used to mock Palestinians on Twitter, has been found dead. The influencer, who went by the handle ‘IAS Smoking Skills’, was identified as Yash, a young man in his late twenties.

Who is Yash (IAS Smoking skills)?

People identified the influencer, who used the handle 'IAS Smoking Skills', as Yash, a young man in his late twenties. Yash suffered a heart failure and died on Sunday (October 29, 2023), which shocked his followers and admirers. He gained recognition for his posts on various socio-political issues, especially nationalism and Hindutva.

However, he also faced criticism and controversy for his insensitive and provocative tweets about the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. He had celebrated the killing of Palestinian children in Gaza and expressed hatred towards Muslims.

His death sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some people paid tribute to him and praised his views, others mocked and condemned him for his bigotry and hatred.

Two notable figures who made offensive remarks about Yash’s death were Mohammad Zubair, a co-founder of Altnews, and Prashant Kanojia, a member of the RLD party. Zubair posted several tweets highlighting Yash’s older tweets where he mocked the death of young Palestinian kids.

He later deleted his tweets after facing backlash. Kanojia wrote that he hoped Yash’s soul would go to hell and wander in Gaza. He also expressed his condolences to Yash’s family sarcastically.

He was enjoying the corpses of children, today nature has enjoyed him. I express my condolences to the family and hope their son goes to hell and his soul wanders in Gaza. Happy death to the forgotten!”

Reaction

As people mourned Yash's passing, Mohammad Zubair, a founding member of Altnews, persistently mocked Yash's death in his posts. Amidst public outrage, Zubair clarified that despite deleting his offensive tweets, he would not approve of Yash's controversial posts which mocked the death of Palestinian kids.

A X user posted and said "This man mocked a Gaza victim against Israel's war. Today he had a cardiac attack and passed away. This is just a daily life lesson not to make fun of the helplessness of any innocent person. He was 20 years old and left this world."

Another user said "And do not think that God is unaware of what the wrongdoers do. He only delays them for a day in which eyes will be closed.) Oh God, we seek refuge in You from incapacity and oppression. Oh God, we entrust Palestine and all the people of Gaza to You, so support them and protect them with Your eyes that never sleep."
