The arrest of AltNews co-founder Mohammed Zubair is a campaign by network of anonymous and inauthentic accounts linked to Vikash Ahir, state chairman of Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV) and co-coordinator of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Gujarat, according to an investigation by The Wire.

A four-member team from the Intelligence, Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) wing of the Delhi Police brought Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair to his residence in Bangalore and seized a laptop and hard drive as part of their investigation into the case brought against him for a 2018 tweet that led to his arrest, officials familiar with the matter said.
The team searched the first and ground floors of his property near Kawal Byrasandra. Bangalore police assisted their Delhi counterparts in the search.
