Who is Avneet Kaur, starring in a movie with Nawazuddin?

The trailer for the movie 'Tiku Weds Sheru', with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur, was released on June 14. While the Kangana Ranaut-produced film received praise from fans, there was also criticism from a certain part of the audience regarding a kiss scene between the main actors.

The lip-kissing scene between Nawazuddin and Avneet drew attention, with some expressing surprise due to the significant age difference between the two. Avneet, who recently turned 21, and Nawazuddin, who is 49, have sparked discussion among netizens.

Amid the controversy surrounding the pairing of Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur in the film, Siddiqui himself has come forward to defend the matter. When asked about the issue, he replied, "Why should there be a problem?" In an interview with IndiaToday.in, he explained: "The problem lies in the fact that today's young men have lost touch with romance. We came from a time when romance had a different meaning. We experienced love and we dove deep into it. for years."

Siddiqui further added that actors like Shah Rukh Khan continue to play romantic roles because the younger generation lacks the essence of romance.

He observed, "Everything in the world today revolves around WhatsApp, including love and breakups. There is a reason behind this. Only those who have truly experienced romance can authentically portray it. Who else will?"

Who is Avneet Kaur?

Avneet Kaur, born October 13, 2001, is an Indian actress, dancer, and model. Avneet was born into a Sikh family in Jalandhar, Punjab, and later moved to Mumbai. She began her acting career at the age of 8. As of 2021, she is studying Commerce at a private college in Kandivali, Mumbai.

She is known for her work in Hindi TV shows and movies. Starting her career at a young age, she gained popularity through her performances and her active presence on social media. Avneet has played notable characters like Meera in "Mardaani", Charumati in "Chandra Nandini" and Princess Yasmine in "Aladdin - Naam Toh Suna Hoga" among other roles.

Her journey started in 2010 with the Zee TV dance show "Dance India Dance Li'l Masters". Although she did not make it to the semifinals, she later joined the "Dance Challengers" team in "Dance Ke Superstars".

In 2012, Avneet made her acting debut with Life OK's "Meri Maa", playing the character of Jhilmil. She later appeared on SAB TV's "Tedhe Hain Par Tere Mere Hain" and participated in Colors TV's celebrity dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" where she was the youngest contestant.

Her television journey continued with appearances on Life OK's “Savitri-Ek Prem Kahani” as Rajkumari Damayanti and Zee TV's “Ek Mutthi Aasmaan” as Pakhi. Avneet was also featured in ZeeQ's newsletter titled "The Weekly Rap".

In 2014, she ventured into cinema with Pradeep Sarkar's “Mardaani”. Avneet played Khushi in Sony Pal's "Hamari Sister Didi" in 2014 and starred in a short film called "Dost - Safi Mother - Daughter" premiered on YouTube in 2016.

From 2018 to 2020, she played the role of Princess Yasmine in SAB TV's "Aladdin-Naam Toh Suna Hoga" and left the show in mid-2020 due to health issues.
