The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet met on Tuesday, May 27, at Vallabh Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. The government took several key decisions during the meeting, including major investments, steps for faster governance, and preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit.
Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya briefed the media after the meeting.
₹4,736 Crore Investment from Kisan Sammelan
The Cabinet approved an investment of ₹4,736 crore from the Kisan Udyog Sammelan held in Narsinghpur on May 26. The event focused on boosting agriculture-based industries in the state.
Speaking to the media, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said, "Our aim is to double the income of farmers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mohan Yadav are committed to this goal. This Sammelan brought in industrial investors who are ready to support agro-industrial projects. The ₹4,736 crore investment will help generate over 6,000 jobs."
He added, "We want to turn agriculture into a profitable business. The central government is continuously supporting us in this direction."
The Cabinet approved the "Delegation of Financial Powers 2025". This increased the financial authority of department heads to speed up decision-making.
Minister Vijayvargiya said, "Departments will now be able to take quick action. This will speed up development work across the state."
Special focus on women
The Madhya Pradesh government announced several programs aimed at supporting women’s welfare and economic independence. A state-level Women Entrepreneur Fair was scheduled for May 28 in Betul to encourage women-led businesses. On May 29, women’s health camps were to be organized in all districts. These camps would include free breast cancer screening.
On May 30, the state planned to hold the Ahilyavahini women’s bike rally. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav was expected to join the rally in Bhopal. Cabinet Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said, “Our government is committed to making women self-reliant. These programs will support women’s health and promote entrepreneurship.”
PM Modi’s Bhopal visit on May 31
The Cabinet reviewed preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Bhopal on May 31. He was scheduled to attend the Women Empowerment Maha Sammelan at Jamburi Maidan. Around 2 lakh women, including entrepreneurs, workers, and Ladli sisters, were expected to participate in the event.
On the same day, PM Modi was set to virtually inaugurate several major infrastructure projects. These included the Indore Metro Rail, new airports in Satna and Datia, and the Shipra River Ghat development project in Ujjain. State and Union ministers would be present at each site. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav directed local ministers to oversee all preparations and ensure smooth execution of the events.
The government announced that the next Cabinet meeting would be held on June 3 in Pachmarhi. The location was chosen in memory of tribal king Bhabhut Singh.
