Metro construction in Bhopal will disrupt water supply in over 50 areas from March 26-27 due to pipeline shifting. About 20% of the city will be affected. The BMC will provide water tankers. Residents are advised to store water in advance.

The cost of water supply per kilolitre is one of the highest in the country at 21 rupees. There is a huge shortfall in cost recovery of 74.7 percent.
