Residents of several areas in Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh will face water supply disruptions for two days due to the shifting of a water pipeline obstructing Metro construction near Karond Mandi. The Bhopal Metro Corporation will take a 24-hour shutdown from 9 AM on Wednesday, March 26, to 9 AM on March 27 to complete the work. If the work is delayed, water supply restoration may take longer.
Metro construction impacting water supply
The second phase of the Orange Line of the Metro has started in Bhopal, requiring excavation for an underground line. This could affect water and telephone lines, making it necessary to shift them. Due to the shifting of the water pipeline, about 20% of Bhopal will not receive water.
More than 50 areas, including Karond and Anna Nagar (Zones 16 and 17), will be affected. Water supply will be completely cut off on March 26, while partial restoration is expected on March 27.
