Forest Department's summer census records 401 vultures, up from 382 in February. Vijayraghavgarh region hosts 353 birds and 147 nests. Two species found: white vulture and Indian Long-billed Vulture.
According to the recent vulture census, Madhya Pradesh now has more than 12 thousand vultures, which is the highest in the country. Ecologists highlight that the presence of vultures in substantial numbers is a key indicator of ecological health.
