New soybean variety

Only 3.88 lakh tonnes of soybean have been collected in Madhya Pradesh, far behind the target. India has collected 8.12 lakh tonnes, while the target is 33.85 lakh tons.

Soybean farmers in Madhya Pradesh are struggling with yellow mosaic virus, exacerbated by waterlogging from heavy rains. Experts stress the need for early detection, effective drainage, and control methods to prevent widespread crop failure.

The central government will procure soybean at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 4,894 per quintal under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) to protect farmers from economic losses and ensure fair compensation.
