While the world is dealing with the threat of rising sea levels due to the melting of Greenland’s ice sheets, an interesting phenomenon is taking place on the Greenlandic mainland.

Climate change has led to Greenland’s ice sheet losing more ice than we thought - 20% more. This was discovered in a recent study that used satellite pictures to see how glaciers have been shrinking over the last 40 years.

The results of this new study, published in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, completely change the conception of melting in this part of the world.
