1.5 degree limit

A major climate study warns that the world is just three years away from using up its carbon budget to stay below 1.5°C. Rising emissions and lack of action from governments could push the planet past a critical threshold, leading to more extreme weather.

The global average temperature is projected to be approximately 1.5 degrees higher than pre-industrial levels (1850-1900) in 2024.
