IMD Weather Warning: Madhya Pradesh Weather Update and Travel Safety

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has reported rainfall and a drop in temperatures in Madhya Pradesh. Several districts recorded heavy rain and strong winds. Residents are advised to follow travel safety and protect crops and livestock.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bhopal has released the daily weather summary and forecast for Madhya Pradesh. Over the past 24 hours, several districts in the Jabalpur, Chambal, and Narmadapuram divisions experienced rainfall. Many places in the Bhopal and Sagar divisions also recorded rainfall. Other parts of the state remained mostly dry.

Maximum temperatures have dropped notably by up to 4.8°C in the Jabalpur division compared to the previous day. The districts in Bhopal, Ujjain, Rewa, and Sagar divisions saw a temperature decrease of 2.5°C to 4.0°C, while other areas showed no significant change. The current maximum temperatures in Bhopal, Indore, Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Jabalpur, Rewa, and Sagar divisions remain 5.4°C to 9.8°C below average.

Minimum temperatures also fell significantly by 2.1°C to 3.4°C in several districts of Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Ujjain, Rewa, Shahdol, and Sagar divisions compared to the previous day. Minimum temperatures in these regions are now 2.5°C to 6.2°C below normal.

Among the cities, Narmadapuram recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 18.0°C, while Niwari registered the highest maximum temperature at 26.6°C. The highest maximum temperature in the state was 38.5°C in Nougaon (Chhatarpur).

Heavy rainfall was recorded in places such as Bhanpura (84.2 mm), Badi (46.0 mm), and Sultanpur (36.4 mm). Other locations recorded moderate to light rainfall. Wind speeds reached up to 61 km/h at Bhopal Airport and 60 km/h at Indore Airport, with gusts expected in multiple districts.

The monsoon’s northern limit currently passes through Maharashtra, Telangana, Odisha, and northern West Bengal, extending to 30°N/85°E latitude.

The highest temperature recorded in the state was 38.5°C in Nougaon (Chhatarpur), and the lowest minimum temperature was 18.0°C in Narmadapuram/Pachmarhi.
