The Meteorological Department reported significant weather changes across India due to cyclonic circulations. The circulation, which was initially over North Madhya Maharashtra, has moved to South-West Madhya Pradesh along with a trough from South Gujarat to North-West Bihar. These conditions will bring light to moderate rain to many areas, particularly in Konkan, Goa, Central Maharashtra, and Gujarat, over the next three days.

According to the IMD report, heavy rains and lightning are predicted in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, with rainfall potentially exceeding 70 mm (7 cm). Similar conditions are expected in western Madhya Pradesh, with localized downpours. Central India expects light to moderate rains in the next few days due to shifting air pressure patterns.

Heavy rain forecast for Bihar, UP, Uttarakhand

Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation over northeastern Assam is bringing light to moderate rain to Eastern India over the next four days. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of Bihar today, with totals likely to surpass 120 mm (12 cm).

A western disturbance is influencing weather in northwest India, causing light to moderate rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand over the next few days. Heavy rain and thunderstorms are forecasted for eastern Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand today, with potential cloudbursts.

Light to moderate rain is predicted for Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep this week. However, heavy rains with thunderstorms are expected in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal on September 28 and 29, with rainfall possibly exceeding 70 mm (7 cm).

Wind warnings issued; monsoon retreating nationwide

The Meteorological Department has issued wind condition warnings. Winds in the Gulf of Mannar are blowing at 35 to 45 km/h, expected to intensify to 55 km/h. In the western South-West Arabian Sea, speeds may reach 65 km/h, especially near the Somalia coast and West-Central Arabian Sea. Fishermen are advised to avoid these regions due to dangerous weather.

The Southwest Monsoon is gradually withdrawing from parts of the country, with the withdrawal line now passing through Ferozepur, Sirsa, Churu, Ajmer, Mount Abu, Deesa, Surendranagar, and Junagadh.

The latest temperature updates show a maximum of 41.7°C in Pokhran, West Rajasthan, and a minimum of 19.4°C in Koraput, Odisha.

On September 27, rain or thundershowers occurred in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, East Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, and Gujarat. Isolated rain was recorded in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and several northeastern states.
