India's lowest score in an innings in Test history, reduced to 36 runs

On the third day of the Adelaide Test, India's second innings was reduced to just 36 runs. Although India lost only nine wickets, Mohammed Shami retired as the last batsman due to injury. Even after this, it is India's lowest score in an innings in Test cricket. Earlier, India's lowest score was 42 runs in an innings. The Indian innings was reduced to 42 runs against England in 1974.

That is, after 46 years, the Indian team has shown worse game than its worst performance in Test cricket.

No batsman from India could reach double digits. Jose Hazlewood took five wickets while Pat Cummins took four wickets.

Earlier India had scored 244 runs in the first innings while Australia had scored 191 runs in the first innings. In this context, to win the Adelaide Test in front of India, you have to score only 90 runs in the second innings. New Zealand has the record of the lowest score in an innings in Test history. The New Zealand team was reduced to just 26 runs in the Auckland Test against England in March 1955.

After this, South Africa were bowled out for 30-30 runs in a test innings twice. After this, South Africa has been reduced to 35 runs in an innings and once in an innings for 36 runs.
