Gujarat BJP’s communal post; depict Muslims as terrorists

Ground Report | New Delhi: Gujarat BJP post Muslims; After 38 people were convicted in the 2008 Ahmedabad blasts case, a tweet was made from the Twitter handle of Gujarat Bharatiya Janata Party BJP and it was written that Satyamev Jayate … no apology to the person spreading terror.

The BJP Gujarat’s official Twitter and Instagram handle shared the image of men in skull caps and long beards like that of Muslim men with ropes around their necks, indicating a death sentence to the perpetrators. The party also put up a caption in Gujurati that said “Satyamev Jayate. No apology to the perpetrator of terror”.

In the 2008 serial blast case in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, the verdict came on Friday. In the verdict, the Special Court of Ahmedabad sentenced 38 people out of 49 convicts to death and sent 11 people behind bars till the last breath of their lives. After this decision of the court, politics has started in Gujarat.

In the cartoon shared by Gujarat BJP, in this picture people of a particular community have been shown hanging. Twitter users have accused the BJP of trying to polarize voters in the ongoing assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

However, the BJP on Saturday termed the Samajwadi Party as a "friend of minority appeasement" and "anti-social" and alleged that it has links with terrorists involved in the 2008 Ahmedabad blasts.

Addressing a press conference at the BJP headquarters, Union minister Anurag Thakur showed a photograph in which the father of one of the convicted in the Ahmedabad blasts was seen with SP chief Akhilesh Yadav to allege that the Samajwadi Party has “connections” with the Ahmedabad blasts perpetrators.
