Like previous years, the UN and other international institutions will set several commemorative dates in 2024, aiming to raise awareness among the population about environmental problems.

This calendar provides a brief description, a link to the event, and the organizing company or foundation, if applicable. A state, city, or county has declared some of these days and they have gained popularity over time. Tradition or history steeps some, while grassroots organizers have initiated others to advocate a cause. An unknown source even initiates some.

The Food Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has declared 2024 as the International Year of the Camelids, in addition to all these days, to heighten awareness of the economic and cultural importance of these herbivorous mammals: dromedaries, Bactrian camels, vicuñas, alpacas, llamas, and guanacos among public opinion and governments.
