In Udaipur, Rajasthan, two men barged into a tailor's shop and killed him. Both had also made a video of the murder and called it revenge for the controversial remarks of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Mohammad.

Mohammad Riaz is originally from Asind in Bhilwara. He lives on rent in Khanjipeer, Udaipur and works as Khidmat in mosques. While Ghaus Mohammad is a resident of Bhima of Rajsamand. He also lives on rent in Khanjipeer, Udaipur. He has work related to welding and land transactions.

Taylor Kanhaiya Lal Sahu was brutally murdered after entering the shop on Tuesday afternoon. The accused also made a video of the incident and threatened Prime Minister Modi. After the murder, the family made some demands. After agreeing to this, Kanhaiyalal's body has been kept in the morgue. The last rites will be performed after the postmortem. 31 lakh have been given to the relatives and both the sons have also been assured of jobs. ASI Bhanwarlal of Dhan Mandi Police Station has been suspended for negligence.

Inspector-General of Police, Udaipur, Hinglaj Dan said, It is alleged that the ASI did not pay heed to the concern raised by Kanhaiya Lal regarding the threat calls, he said.

After the murder, people who took to the streets in protest got ready to pick up the dead body after about seven hours at around seven o'clock in the night. The body has been kept in Udaipur hospital. The postmortem will be done on Wednesday morning. Earlier, there was a clash between the people and the police who reached the Hathipol crossroads. In this, a worker of BJP Yuva Morcha was injured.

Police said Lal had earlier claimed that his son had "accidentally" posted "objectionable remarks" on Facebook while playing the game on his phone. He also claimed that he had no idea about the post until some local residents questioned him.

“This murder has been done for religious reasons, in the name of religion. A senior central government official said, the NIA will find out if there is any militancy angle and will provide whatever assistance is required to the state police. The NIA can take up such cases only after the enforcement of laws relating to terrorism, or laws relating to other crimes, as mentioned in its programme.
