But if this is the older version of the iPhone i.e. iPhone 4s, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, if they have old software, then they can be updated. At the same time, WhatsApp will not support smartphones running on versions older than Android 4.0.3.
