The Indian government has approved a Viability Gap Funding scheme to facilitate offshore wind energy projects. Despite having 54 offshore wind farm projects, none are currently operational.

MNRE has unveiled guidelines for implementing the Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme for 1,000 MW offshore wind power projects. This initiative aims to boost India's renewable energy capacity and promote offshore wind power generation.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy shared the criteria and incentives under different schemes by the government to boost renewable energy.
