Taapsee Pannu, Anurag Kashyap raid case: 650 crore rigging claim

The Central Board of Direct Taxes, or CBDT, claimed that a raid at the home office of two film production companies of the Income Tax Department, two talent management companies and an actress revealed an amount of over 650 crore rupees.

The CBDT did not take any names in its statement, but has given information about the ongoing action since Wednesday.

The raids on film actress Taapsee Pannu, film director Anurag Kashyap and the companies associated with them also continued on Thursday and looking at the evidence found that the raid may continue for three days.

Times of India, quoted the officials as saying that a cash payment of five crore rupees was paid and that its receipt has been received from Tapsee Pannu's house.

Officials said that this raid by the Income Tax Department is an important part of the investigation of tax evasion against Phantom Films.

According to the Times of India news, Income Tax officials have also questioned Tapasi Pannu and Anurag Kashyap at a hotel in Pune.

Income tax officials said that they are also investigating more than two dozen projects of Tapasi Pannu and the amount received for them.

According to the newspaper, the Income Tax Department has said in a statement that "irregularities" have been found in the 300 crore rupees deals which are related to a production house which is now closed and Anurag Kashyap was also the owner of parts of it.
