Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh wrote a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding free vaccine for the poor population of the state. In the first phase, Punjab will start the process of vaccination of 1.74 lakh health workers with 40,000 every day for the next five days.

The Chief Minister thanked PM Modi for providing the vaccine on priority to the State and Central Government Health Care Workers (HCWs) in Punjab, accepting the receipt of 2,04,500 doses of the covishield vaccine.

He sincerely requested PM Modi in his letter to consider providing free vaccine to the poor population to reduce the burden of disease. Also ensure a check on further spread of transmission, which can lead to more economic activity.

Capt Amarinder said in his letter, "People from the state of Corona" The reasons have gone through a lot of problems. Economic activity has come to a standstill and the economy has still not recovered from this shock. " "It will be difficult for the poorer sections of society to pay for vaccination," he said.

He further stated that a sufficient number of vaccination sites have been identified and all logistics are tied up. A sufficient number of commentators have been identified to manage vaccination sessions. Adequate number of teams have been mobilized and trained.

Stating that "the corona epidemic has been a unique disaster. It has cost heavily in our corono virus response." The Chief Minister further wrote that his government had already requested the Center to allow the state to use the covid-19 response as necessary in the State Disaster Relief Fund with accumulated balance. ''
