The Prime Minister said that in the name of differences in the last century, there has been a long time already. He said that there is no time to lose and everyone has to make a new India, self-reliant India with one goal.

PM Modi said, "We have to understand that politics is an important part of society. But there are other issues besides politics in the society. The society of a country is much larger than the thinking of politics and power. "

Addressing the program, Prime Minister Modi said that AMU Campus looks like mini India.

He said, "I hear a lot of people saying that the AMU campus is like a city in itself. Many departments, dozens of hostels, thousands of teacher-students see a mini India. Urdu is taught here on one side, so Hindi is also taught. If Arabic is taught then culture is also taught. "

Along with this, the Prime Minister appreciated the contribution of AMU during the Corona crisis. He said that conducting free tests of people, building isolation wards, making plasma banks and contributing a large amount to the PM Care Fund shows the seriousness of fulfilling your obligations towards the society.

Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and AMU Vice Chancellor Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin were also present in the program. Apart from addressing the function, the Prime Minister also issued a postage stamp on this occasion.

After 56 years, no Prime Minister of India has addressed Aligarh Muslim University. Earlier in 1964, the then Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri addressed the AMU.

This is only the second time that a Prime Minister of the country will be present there in the 100-year history of the university. This will be Prime Minister Modi's first AMU tour, that too through virtual medium.

In the AMU, both academic and political eyes are focused on the Prime Minister's association. This university has been the focal point of many movements and has been a staunch critic of the policies of the government.

Looking at the old sentences, the university has appealed to the students to keep their focus on enjoying the educational and celebrations.

However, according to the news, Nadeem Ansari, former Vice President of AMU Students' Union, emailed a list of demands for the university just before the address. These include issues like renewing the minority status of the university, giving additional funds as well as the appointment of non-academic staff and housing. Along with this, he has also demanded action against such elements who have maligned the university and called it a nursery of extremists.
