Pakistani team trolled after the loss vs Afghans; ex-cricketers react!

Afghanistan achieved an unprecedented victory against Pakistan in the 2023 World Cup on Monday, marking a historical moment in international cricket. Having previously overcome the defending champions, England, their triumph over Pakistan for the first time in a One Day International has catapulted them into prominence. This significant win - the first time Afghanistan has bested the 'Men In Green' in the ODI format and in the World Cup - has sparked waves of criticism directed at Babar Azam and the rest of the Pakistan team from former cricketers, journalists, and netizens alike, all chastising their substandard performance in the World Cup.

Former Pakistan fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, has levied criticism towards the Pakistan Cricket Board and the team, following their loss to Afghanistan. He shared his thoughts and critique on his YouTube channel, stating...

“Can't say much after seeing this performance. For God's sake, put the right person in the right place. Whoever becomes the chairman, for how long will we continue to support the common people? You put average people on top. So you will continue to see such average performances.”

Ex-cricketers react: 'my heart is crying'

Further Akhtar lashed out at Babar Azam and asked to leave for captaincy if not capable of handling the team on a big stage. He said,

“I have played for Pakistan and my heart is crying today. I will continue to support Pakistan. Had I been with Babar at this time, I would have told him to leave the captaincy now. Nothing worse than this can happen. Does Babar Azam have courage? Do they have stamina? Do they have the capability? Can he repeat the feat of Imran Khan in 1992? Can Shaheen become Wasim Akram? Can Haris Rauf become Aaqib Javed? Can this team win? I have faith in this team but do they have faith in themselves? Only Allah would know this.”

At the same time, Pakistan legend Wasim Akram lashes out at Babar Azam and the Team for their fitness standard citing that they are eating 8 kg mutton. He said,

"Whatever happened in this match was shocking. Today was really shameful. Making 280 runs and losing only two wickets is a big thing. Despite the wet pitch, fielding and fitness. The level test must be done now. It will not be good if I tell the name. It seems as if these people are eating 8 kg of mutton there every day."

Netizens react

A look at how the netizens and Pakistani Journalists Netizens are targeting the Pakistan Cricket team on X(formerly Twitter). ..

Aur kitna support karei?Out of the way ja kar Pakistan Cricket Team ko support kia jata hy. Superstar status players ko dia jata hy. Lekin Pakistani fans phir superstars wali performance bhi expect karte hei. WorldCup Pakistan lana expect karte hei! Pakistan is sad today! #CWC23

Pakistan can tolerate a defeat from India, but not from Pathans, a Pakistani fan’s reaction to Afghanistan’s historic win against Pakistan.

Once again everyone is blaming Captain only, That's why I want Babar Azam to leave Captaincy himself, we might lose "Babar the batter" due to all these agendas against him #PAKvsAFG

The match

Pakistan set a target of 283 runs for Afghanistan, who historicly triumphed for the first time against Pakistan by successfully chasing the score down in 49 overs, with 8 wickets still in hand. Following consecutive losses in the World Cup, Pakistan has unfortunately slipped to the 5th position, putting them in a precarious position where every match from now on is crucial for their survival in the tournament. Any additional losses could jeopardize their continuation in the tournament. Meanwhile, India stands on top of the tables, boasting an unbroken winning streak with 5 victories in 5 matches.
