Pakistan have started their World Cup 2023 Campaign with a blistering win of 81 runs over Netherlands in Hyderabad. Men in orange gave a stubborn fightback but unfortunately got all out at just at 205 runs while chasing target of 287 runs against Pakistan. Although, there were three players of Netherlands who got spotlight in the match. The reason was their Indian origins and moment of pride as they were playing for the Dutch in India.
Teja Nidamanuru
Born in Andhra Pradesh, India, and raised in New Zealand, the dutch cricketer Teja Nidamanuru appeared for Netherlands for just over a year and after playing 21 matches of his ODI career, he is already Netherlands' second highest century maker in the format after Ryan ten Doeschate. In the World Cup 2023, Teja gets opportunity to play at his first home, India. However, he misses to score big against Pakistan in Hyderabad.
Vikramjit Singh
Born just outside Jalandhar in Northern Punjab, dashing left-handed opener Vikram Singh is a stand-out talent. He got a chance in 2022 when the dutch batsman Myburgh retired from ODIs. He scored a maiden century of 110 runs off 109 deliveries against Oman in World Cup Qualifier. His century helped Netherlands qualify for 2023 World Cup. In the match against Pakistan, Opener Vikramjit gave a steady start to his team in the run chase. He scored 52 runs in 67 balls comprising 4 fours and 1 sixes.
Aryan Dutt
Born in Hoshiarpur, a City in Punjab, spin-bowling all-rounder Aryan Dutt has been tremendous for the dutch cricket. He has taken 21 wickets in 26 ODIs and 4 wickets in 5 T20Is. In his first match in home country India, Dutt gaves a brilliant bowling spell against Pakistan taking one wicket in six overs giving only 30 runs with an economy of five.
