The opening match of World Cup 2023 has now turned out to be the most memorable match for New Zealand. Men in Black thrashes England by 9 wickets and successfully takes revenge for the 2019 Cricket World Cup Final loss in a blasting way. 

Biggest 2nd wicket Partnership by any NZ player

After restricting England to just 282 runs in the 50 overs, New Zealand lost opener Will Young for a duck in the second over in the run chase, but after losing a quick wicket, Ravindra and Conway didn't give any chance to opponents and teamed up for an unbeaten match-winning stand. Both of them made a brilliant 273-run partnership in just 211 balls and helped New Zealand win their first game with 82 balls left. This is also the highest and the first 200-plus partnership by a New Zealand pair, breaking the previous highest of 168 by Chris Harris and Lee Germon, set in 1996 against Australia in Chennai.

The name is Rachin Ravindra has left remarkable footprints of his performance in the biggest stage of cricket. Firstly doing his work in the bowling department, gets the wicket of Harry Brook for 25 runs and then batting masterclass show. He scored 123 runs from just 96 deliveries comprising 11 fours and 5 sixes. This fine performance in the match gives him the Player of the Match award. As he is performing well in ICC tournaments under high-pressure situations, one cannot disagree that the future star for New Zealand is making.
