Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan has filed a police complaint against Yati Narasimhanand, the Mahant of a temple in Dasna, on Saturday.
The Hindu newspaper has written in its report that Amanatullah Khan alleges that the Mahant Narsinghanand has used derogatory language against Prophet Mohammad and has hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community.
In his complaint at the Jamia Nagar police station, he has said that the video clip of Ishaninda against the Prophet is going viral on social media. He says that he is a Muslim who follows the principles of Islam.
The Aam Aadmi Party MLA has written in his complaint that in this video clip, Mahant Narsinghanand is repeatedly using derogatory words.
Delhi Police spokesman Chinmay Biswal says that a case has been registered in this case and investigation is on.
Mahant Yati Narasimhanand is the Mahant of the same Devi temple in Dasna, Ghaziabad, where a Muslim child, Asif, was brutally beaten up for drinking water from the tap on March 11 and the video was made viral.
Mahanta had said at that time that he had no regrets over the incident.
“In this video clip, there are uncouth words that are below the standards of being repeated. It is needless to say that such statements for cheap publicity and personal gain hurt the sentiments of Muslim section at large.
Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati who happens to be the chief priest of Devi Mandir, Dasna, leader of Hindutva organisation, Hindu Swabhiman and president of Akhil Bhartiya Sant Parishad with all his knowledge and intention, has hurt the religious sentiments of the Muslim community,” read the complaint file by Mr. Khan.
Delhi Police PRO Chinmoy Biswal said that a case has been registered.
“Taking cognisance of a video circulating on social media in the matter, a case under Section 153-A/ 295-A of the Indian Penal Code has been registered at Parliament Street police station and investigation has been taken up,” he said.
