Tragic, after being raped, this young girl was tied up and beaten by villagers

In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old teenager and her alleged rapist were tied together and paraded in public in a village in Madhya Pradesh.

The incident was reported from the tribal-dominated Alirajpur district on Sunday. Videos showing the girl and the accused tied with ropes, beaten and forced to walk in public in the village have gone viral.

A disturbing video shows them both tied with ropes as people around chant slogans. Six people, including the accused, have been arrested, police said, after the clip triggered shock and outrage.

The clip shows the young girl being paraded with the accused as some men walking around them chant- "Bharat Mata Ki Jai (Long Live Mother India)". They were paraded after they were beaten up. The incident was reported from tribal-dominated Alirajpur district, about 400 km from state capital Bhopal.

According to the PTI report, villagers shouted the slogan "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" while parading the two.

The girl was rescued by police, said a senior officer. Police Sub-Division (SDOP) officer Dilip Singh Bilwal said two cases had been registered on Sunday in the FIR filed by the victim.

"One of the cases was registered against a 21 year old man accused of rape. Another FIR was registered against family members of the girl and villagers for parading her in the village and beating her," Bilwal said, adding that the rape defendant was married with two children.

He has been detained under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and under the provisions of the Child Protection from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

Family members and relatives of the victim were charged under articles 294 (obscene acts in public), 355 (assault or criminal force with intent to disrespect people), 323 (voluntarily causing injury), 342 (wrongful confinement) and other parts of the IPC. , said the officer.

However, according to some local media reports, the 16-year-old girl, who was married with two children, then had an affair and the two were arrested by villagers on Saturday night.
