'Working round the clock amid Covid scare made me more benevolent, kind hearted person’
Ground Report | New Delhi: Meet a young and dynamic frontline worker cum Male Multi-purpose Health Worker, Ashok Shan. Ashok says that being in the department for more than 9 years now, he never felt the importance of his job as it was in the past one year working amid Covid-19 scare. He said this experience has actually changed his perception towards the world and has actually made him a more benevolent, selfless and kind hearted human being.

Recollecting his routine in last one year, Ashok said during this period he has done multiple duties assigned to him by his seniors, which includes contact tracing of positive patients, shifting positive persons to quarantine facilities, taking part in IEC activities, the active part of QRT team, besides presently being part of testing/sampling team at OPD of GMC Doda.

“Due to an over-busy schedule of duty in the QRT team last year, I delayed my marriage ceremony and also didn't visit home for around 3 months,” he said. Ashok said as a part of the sampling team, he has conducted more than 1000 RAT as well as RTPCR tests.
"After completing my day shift at OPD when I remove my PPE kit, the sweat coming out from each single pore of my body makes me feel more worthy and satisfied which cannot be measured by any worldly tool,” Ashok added.
He urged the people from all walks of life not to pay heed to rumours about vaccine and get vaccinated as early as possible, follow all the necessary guidelines to stay safe.
