Leaders who left congress: Lately, Indian National Congress has been experiencing the exit of prominent leaders from the party. This is a matter of concern for the party as it leads to a negative impact on the other members as well as the party supporters. The issue has become so crucial that even the senior party leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad stated that leader after leader from the party is a matter of serious concern.
Leaders of G-23 grouping in the party called for introspection. Earlier in 2020, these 23 leaders wrote to Sonia Gandhi, President - Indian National Congress, in order to call for sweeping changes in the party.
Recently, Ashwani Kumar, Former Union Minister left the party and stated that there has been decline in the internal functioning of the party. The exit of Ashwani Kumar is a major concern, as he was a staunch supporter of Sonia Gandhi, moreover, he was also the law minister in UPA II government and is also considered to be close to Manmohan Singh. He further emphasised that Nation is not in the mood of an alternative leader for the Congress Party. The exit of Kumar indicates that even the old guard is becoming increasingly disenchanted with the party's state of affairs.
