The monsoon entered the country eight days earlier than usual and moved quickly across states like Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. It was expected to arrive in Madhya Pradesh in early June. But it stalled for nearly 15 days in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. It moved again around 13–14 June and entered MP just one day later than the usual 15 June date. Despite this delay, it covered nearly the entire state within three days.
