Hailstorm alert in 8 districts of Madhya Pradesh

Bhopal experienced cloudy weather and strong winds on Tuesday. The Meteorological Department has issued a hailstorm alert for eight districts of Madhya Pradesh, including Narmadapuram, Khandwa, and Narsinghpur. A storm with wind speeds of 40 to 50 km/h may hit Bhopal and Jabalpur.

A strong weather system caused by a cyclonic circulation is active in the state, leading to hail, rain, and storms. Several districts, including Jabalpur, Neemuch, Mandsaur, and Betul, experienced cloudy skies and light rainfall on Tuesday.

Day temperatures have dropped in several cities. Seoni recorded 30.4°C, Pachmarhi 32.4°C, Mandla 34.5°C, and Betul 35°C. Dhar was the hottest city at 39.8°C. Bhopal recorded 37°C, while Indore saw 37.2°C.

The weather department has issued warnings for the coming days. On April 2, hailstorms are expected in Khandwa, Burhanpur, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, and Pandhurna. Storms and light rain may occur in Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar, Damoh, and other districts.

On April 3, hailstorms are predicted in Khargone, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Harda, Narmadapuram, Betul, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, and Balaghat. Strong winds may affect Sheopur, Morena, Gwalior, and Chhatarpur.

On April 4, Seoni and Mandla may witness hailstorms, while Balaghat could experience thunderstorms.

Meteorologists say the La Niña effect is weakening, which could result in below-normal rainfall. A heatwave is expected to last 7-10 days in April.

For the first week of April, night temperatures are expected to be 2-3°C above normal. Maximum temperatures may reach 42°C in Indore, Sagar, and Narmadapuram. Light rain is expected in some areas.

In the second week, a heatwave may last for 2-3 days, with maximum temperatures reaching 43°C in Indore, Gwalior, and Rewa divisions.

The third week may see temperatures rise to 44°C across the state, with a 2-3 day heatwave. Light rain is also possible.

During the fourth week, minimum temperatures may be 3-4°C above normal. A heatwave is expected for 3-4 days. Day temperatures may reach 45°C in Gwalior, Chambal, and Rewa.

The central government has issued guidelines to states to prepare for heatwaves. Hospitals have been instructed to stock medicines, ORS, and IV fluids. Doctors and health workers are being trained to handle heatstroke cases.

With rising temperatures and unpredictable weather, residents are advised to stay updated on weather alerts and take precautions.
