Chhatarpur weather: Storms, rain, and Extreme heat

Chhatarpur is seeing a mix of extreme heat and stormy weather. On Wednesday night, strong winds caused trees to fall and power lines to snap. Some areas also saw rain and hail.

Khajuraho recorded the highest temperature in the state at 46°C. Naugaon reached 45.2°C, and Tikamgarh saw 44.5°C. The heat remained intense throughout the day before the storm hit.

Late at night, heavy winds struck parts of Chhatarpur and Morena. In Morena, a flying tin sheet hit a woman on the face, injuring her. Power cuts were reported as electric poles were damaged by the storm.

The weather department has issued a heat wave alert for Chhatarpur, Gwalior, Morena, and nearby districts. At the same time, 35 districts, including Bhopal and Indore, are on alert for thunderstorms and rain. Wind speeds may go up to 60 km/h.

Experts say this weather is due to a trough line and a cyclonic system passing over Madhya Pradesh. These conditions are likely to continue for the next few days.

Chhatarpur has seen both heat and rain through May. On some days, the temperature touched 45°C, while on others, hail and rain caused damage.

People are advised to stay indoors during storms and avoid going out in the afternoon heat.

The weather across Madhya Pradesh remained unstable, with a mix of intense heat and sudden rain. Bhopal and Indore experienced light rain by evening after a hot afternoon.

Sehore saw hailstorms and strong winds in several villages. In Vidisha and Ratlam, stormy weather led to trees falling and power cuts. Chhindwara, Dhar, Raisen, Narmadapuram, Rewa, and Balaghat also witnessed rain and gusty winds.

More than 10 electric poles were damaged by high-speed winds between Mandideep and Obedullaganj. Temperatures stayed high in many cities—Gwalior recorded 44.6°C, Bhopal 39.1°C, Indore 36.8°C, Jabalpur 41°C, and Ujjain 38.7°C.
