Know about Jeev Daya Sansthan that bought 250 goats in UP to save them

Members of the Baghpat Jain community in Uttar Pradesh showed compassion for the animals by buying 250 goats and sending them to a shelter called 'bakrashala'. The goats were purchased one day before Bakrid, a Muslim festival where goats are traditionally sacrificed.

The Jeev Daya Sansthan, established in 2016, aims to save animals based on the principle of 'live and let live' inspired by Lord Mahavir. The refuge currently houses around 450 goats.

Manoj Jain, president of Jeev Daya Sansthan said that the organization is dedicated to protecting animals. Inspired by Jain Muni Rajendra Maharaj, Manoj and like-minded people formed Jeev Daya Sansthan and registered it in Delhi.

Most of the organization's members are from Baghpat district. They bought 1,000 square meters of land in the town of Aminagar Sarai to establish a goat shelter called 'Bakrashala'. Currently, the organization houses more than 500 goats, making it the only Bakrashala in Western Uttar Pradesh. They recently acquired 5,000 square meters of land for expansion.

Initially, the shelter housed about 40 to 45 goats, but with the help of generous donors, the number grew to about 500. Goats purchased Wednesday were identified by red string tied around their necks.

Dinesh Jain emphasized the careful attention given to the welfare of the goats at the shelter, with regular monitoring of their nutrition, water, fodder and medical needs. Similar refuges exist in Rajasthan, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, and there are plans to build a 45-story tower specifically for birds.

Actually, Jeev Daya Sansthan is run by the people of the Jain community in Aminagar Sarai city since 2016. The purpose of opening this institute is to protect the voiceless creatures. Every year, this organization protects the lives of animals that come to be sacrificed in Bakrid.
