Kashmir cannot be discussed with Pakistan: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has rejected the possibility of any talks with Pakistan on the Kashmir issue. Amit Shah visited the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. This was the first visit by the Indian Home Minister to the valley after the repeal of Article 370 in 2019, after Kashmir's constitutional status was revoked.

Amit Shah said: 'Some people are giving me suggestions that I should talk to Pakistan, those who have ruled here for 70 years are giving me suggestions, but I am clear. That I don't want to talk to Pakistan. I will talk to the youth of Kashmir. They (Pakistan) have spread terrorism here. What good has it done for Kashmir?

Has terrorism ever benefited anyone, Shah asked people as he pointed out that the menace has consumed 42,000 lives from the 1990s in Jammu and Kashmir. "We want to wipe out terrorism from Jammu & Kashmir so that it remains the heaven of India. People say we should talk to Pakistan, we say will talk to the people of Kashmir," Shah told the public.

“Mufti and company, Abdullah and sons and the Congress have done nothing for the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.

Although the leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) often criticize the Abdullah and Mufti families, this was the first time that Amit Shah also attacked the Gandhi family.

He said: 'I saw a tweet from Mehbooba Mufti. He had said that the Home Secretary should account for what he gave to Kashmir before he returned.

Addressing Mehbooba Mufti, Amit Shah said: 'Listen with your ears and eyes open, I will give an account of what we have done, but what you(Mehbooba) and Farooq Abdullah have done, you will also give that account later. I'm here to ask you. Mehbooba and Farooq Abdullah, please tell us how much investment has come to Kashmir in 70 years, how many industries have been established, how many factories have been opened and how many youths have been employed. In 70 years, only Rs 15 billion has been invested.

Calling the National Conference (NC) political parties 'Abdullah and Sons' and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) 'Mufti and Company', Amit Shah alleged that they allegedly threw stones at the hands of Kashmiri youth. And give the weapons.

Amit Shah said: 'Modi brought the industry here and put mobile phones and laptops in his (young people's) hands. 'Friends, we have two models, Modi's development, peace and employment model and the Gapkar (political party alliance) model.'

He said that 'the Gapkar model gave us the Pulwama attack. The Modi model gave the hospital Rs 2000 crore to Pulwama. The Gapkar model put stones and machine guns in the hands of the youth and closed down universities, while the Modi model gave us IIM, IIT, AIIMS, NIFT and NEET.'

The Union Home Minister said that since the beginning of the militancy in 1990, 42 thousand people have died from terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. Who is responsible for the death of these 42 thousand people? Three families who ruled Kashmir for 70 years are responsible.

You know that the hardest thing to do is carry your child's coffin. Here 42 thousand people have died. Has the son of a leader ever been assassinated? We want the fear of Kashmir separatism to be removed, terrorism to end and Kashmir to become the paradise of India.

He also said that Kashmir used to be a "terrorist hotspot" but has now become a "tourism hotspot" under the BJP government.

He said that in the past, six lakh tourists used to visit Kashmir every year. “I came here in October. 22 lakhs of tourists have already visited Kashmir so far this year and it has employed five lakhs of young people.

Amit Shah further said that terrorism has practically ended in Jammu and Kashmir and because of this, people are joining the mainstream. The Modi government will not tolerate terrorism.
