Muslim student called 'terrorist
In the video that went viral on all social media platforms, the student is seen instructing the teacher on calling him a terrorist. "How can you call me a terrorist…it's not funny…you're a professional, you're teaching…you can't call me that."
In a video that has now surfaced on social media, recorded by a student present during the altercation, the Muslim student can be seen questioning his teacher about his alleged Islamophobic comment.
The incident has sparked angry reactions from several Twitter users who have come out in support of the student and praised his bravery.
The Muslim student, whose name has not been mentioned, was shocked to be called a terrorist by the teacher in class. “These jokes are not acceptable. Nope! You can't joke about my religion… that too in such a terrible way”, stresses the student.
Realizing what he had done, the teacher tried to defuse the situation by calling the agitated student "you're like my son", to which the student replied, "If my father did this to me, I would disown him."
"Being a Muslim and facing this every day is not fun," the student can be heard saying in the video.
When the teacher replied that the student was like his son, he said: "No, if a father says that, it is his fault. He is not funny."
"Will you talk to your son like that? Will you call him a terrorist? How can you call me that in front of so many people? This is a class, you are a professional and you are teaching. You can' call me that," the student was heard replying.
