The innovative smart trolleys are equipped with tablet-like screens that serve as interactive guides for travelers navigating through the airport. These screens provide passengers with vital information, including airport layout, flight schedules, gate directions, product details, and store locations within the airport.

The introduction of these smart trolleys has sparked considerable interest among passengers, many of whom have shared their excitement on social media. A video posted by a passenger en route from Hyderabad to Goa garnered attention from business magnate Anand Mahindra, who shared it with his followers, praising the innovation.

The trolley lets the passenger know when it's their boarding time. The screen also shows the gate number for the departure. Following this, it displays the passenger's departure time and flight status. A display of gates where washrooms are located is also available inside the airport. If a passenger wants to eat at a restaurant, the screen shows a list of restaurants in the airport.

To use the smart trolleys, passengers can:

  1. Click Start Now
  2. Scan their boarding pass on the QR code
  3. If that doesn't work, click Find Your Flight
  4. Select their flight from the list of flights
  5. The trolley will announce the passenger's gate number
  6. The trolley will notify the passenger based on their boarding time

Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd, expressed enthusiasm about leading the charge with these next-generation smart trolleys. “The pilot project is part of our commitment to offering an immersive airport experience,” said Panicker. He further explained that the smart trolleys serve as navigational aids, helping passengers explore the terminal and its amenities with ease.
