Yeh UP nahi hai

Court added "“Agar aap bilkul aankh band karke aur dimag band karke kaam karte hai, hamare pass koi ilaaj nai. Aap ek baar jab Dilli aayenge, intimation local thane ko denge, uske baad karwaye karnege? Yahan Dilli main nahi chalega”.

The court questioned the UP Police for not verifying the age of the woman before proceeding with the matter. "Did you ask whether the girl is older or not? If she is older, will she prevail or her parents. When you investigate, you don't ask the complainant? Start arresting the accused?" it asked.

To a query by the court, the SHO replied that the men had not been arrested in Delhi, following which the court warned the UP police. The court said, "You cannot do illegal work here." I will get all the CCTVs, if I see that they have been arrested from here, I will order a departmental inquiry".

verification of woman's age

Earlier, the court had issued a notice to the SHO of Shamli Police through Delhi Police. A status report by Delhi Police said that it had not received any information from its UP counterpart, as the men were allegedly taken from Delhi. According to the FIR lodged in Shamli, the age of the woman has been given as 21 years.

The court expressed displeasure with the Shamli Police SHO that why the verification of the age of the woman was not done and the men were taken only on the basis of the statement of the family members of the woman.
