Official death toll in Gujarat from March 20 to May 10 is 4218
Ground Report | New Dehli: Divya Bhaskar, a local newspaper in Gujarat, has accused the Gujarat government of manipulating the death toll. 1.23 lakh death certificates have been issued in Gujarat in the last 71 days.
The official death toll in Gujarat from March 20 to May 10 is 4218. However, the number of death certificates officially issued within 71 days of application is 1.23 lakh. According to the newspaper, there is an increase of 65,085 over the official figure.
According to the report, covid deaths could have been as high as 15 times the official figure in Gujarat.

Compared to the number of deaths in Gujarat last year and the number of death certificates issued, the latest figures are double. Gujarat-based newspaper Divya Bhaskar has published a report on death certificates from March 1, 2021 to May 10, 2021.
Accordingly, 1 lakh 23 thousand 871 death certificates have been issued so far in 71 days in 33 districts and 8 metros in Gujarat.
2020 death certificates have been procured in Rajkot for the period from March 1 to May 10, 2020. Between March 1 and May 10, 2021, 10,878 certificates were issued.
However, the Gujarat government estimates that only 288 people have died of covid during the period
In Ahmedabad, 13,593 people were issued death certificates during the period, while the government estimates that only 2,126 people died of covid during the period.
In Surat, 2,769 covid certificates were issued between March 1 and May 10, 2020, while in 2021, 8,851 certificates were issued during the same period.
But the government estimates that 1,074 people in Surat have died of covid during this period.
A local newspaper reported that 58 covid deaths had occurred at a hospital in Jamnagar, Gujarat, yesterday. But according to government figures, only nine people have died of covid in Jamnagar.

Divya Bhaskar had earlier pointed out the fallout from the Gujarat government's figures in covid figures. On April 26, the Gujarat government launched a series of allegations that covid's deaths were not accurately reported. At that time, Divya Bhaskar reported that more than 5,000 people had died of covid.
