The farmers have called for ‘Bharat Bandh’ today i.e. on 8 December. Many political parties have supported this bandh. Farmer leaders have said that the Bharat Bandh will be effective from 10 am to 3 pm, but there will be no obstruction in emergency services.

In Lucknow, the Uttar Pradesh Police is monitoring the activities of the Samajwadi Party. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had said on Sunday that ‘they accept the demands of the farmers and they will support the Bharat Bandh called by the farmers’. But on Monday morning, UP police camped outside their house.

Speaking to the press on Monday evening, Kisan Union (Revolutionary) President Darshan Pal Singh said, “We thank all the political parties that they supported our demands, considered them right.” But we will appeal to them that when they come in support of ‘Bharat Bandh’ on Tuesday, they should leave their flags and banners at home, and only support the farmers. “
