Covid-19 recovery rate reached 85.56% in India

The COVID-19 recovery rate reached 85.56 per cent with the tota recovery of more than one lakh 54 thousand  patients in the last 24 hours across the Country.

The health Ministry said over one crore 31 lakh patients have already been recovered from this disease. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is over 20 lakh 31 thousand which comprises only 13.26 per cent of the total positive cases.

Earlier, on July 19 last year, the positivity rate reached 15.7 percent and the weekly positivity rate was 12.5 percent. A 16.7 percent infection rate means that one out of every six samples is found positive. 

82 per cent of the deaths occurred in Maharashtra in only eight states, with the maximum number of 503 deaths occurring in 24 hours in the country.

After this, 161 people died in Delhi, 170 in Chhattisgarh, 127 in UP, Gujarat 110, 81 in Karnataka, 68 in Punjab and 66 in Madhya Pradesh. A total of 1286 deaths occurred in these eight states, which is 81.9 percent of the total of 1570 deaths.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research, more than 26.5 million tests, 26,65,38,416 samples have been tested till April 17 of which 15,66,394 samples were tested on Saturday.

Meanwhile, sources in the Finance Ministry said on Monday that Rs 4500 crore has been given in advance by the Center to vaccine manufacturers in India.

Quoting sources, NDTV reported Three thousand crores rupees have been given to the Serum Institute of India, which manufactures Covishield, while 1500 crores has been allocated to Bharat Biotech, which manufactures Covaxin, so that both of them Companies can rapidly increase vaccine production.
