In Maharashtra, a portion of a foot overbridge has collapsed at Ballarshah railway station in Chandrapur district. The height of the bridge was 60 feet. People were passing through it at the time of the accident. As soon as part of the bridge collapsed, people fell on the railway tracks from a height of 60 feet.
According to the official statement from the Railways, 4 people have been injured. All have been shifted to Civil Hospital. At present, there is no news of anyone's death.
Several passengers were moving from platform number one to platform number four to board the Kazipet-Pune Express at Ballarshah station when the incident took place. Suddenly, a portion of the slab in the middle of the bridge collapsed, causing passengers passing through it to fall on the tracks.
Fellow passengers lifted the injured on stretchers and took them to the ambulance. The injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital.
